ALERT!
FCC Bans 700 MHz Wireless Microphones

As of June 12, 2010, it is a federal offense to use wireless microphones in this frequency band.

Most of the wireless microphones sold prior to the last couple of years were in the 700 MHz band. The FCC has warned for a while now that it was going to designate this frequency band for other uses and, as of June 12, 2010, is prohibiting the use of it by wireless microphones.

700 MHz Microphone At AV/COM, we know which microphones are included in the band and can provide you the necessary information as to whether the microphones your church uses are affected or not — simply give us a call. We can guide you through the process.

What if your microphones are in the band frequency?

  • It is against the law to use them as of June 12, 2010.
  • Some microphone manufacturers are offering incentives in the way of rebates and/or trade–in programs. We can help you see if you qualify.
  • AV/COM is offering a 10% discount on any wireless microphone systems you purchase from us between now and August 1st — over and above any discounts or trade–in offers from manufacturers.

The economy has hit us all hard and this FCC announcement couldn’t come at a more difficult time when monies are tight. Some manufacturers understand this and are trying to help with rebates and trade–in programs and we are working with them and you to make sure you understand the law and what your options are. We at AV/COM are here to work with you. Give us a call.
