Our Team

Our Senior Members have over 100 years of experience in audio, video and control systems, having served some of the greatest names in music and worked in some of the most impressive facilities in the world.

It all begins with “The Suit” who stops to listen to your needs and starts to create a game plan. Then the information is passed along to “The Guru” for computer modeling and other engineering feats of excellence. If there is control programming, IT wizardry, or further design involved, then “JD” lays down the code and creates highly friendly end–user simplicity. Finally, it is all up to “Doctor Steve” and “OCD” to put their spin on it. They finalize programming, organize the installation, turn it into art, and make AV/COM look like geniuses. You have not seen an installation so clean and beautiful until you have seen “OCD” in action. And, if you are having a bad day, “Doctor Steve” has what you need to make you feel better! And, as far as training and service support, if by this point you haven’t determined that you made the best decision to place your trust and confidence in AV/COM, seeing our commitment to provide the best support possible will have you totally hooked.

John Bangs: “The Suit”

John Bangs The conceptual glue; the people side of AV/COM; the buck stops here!

As a music student at Towson University, John realized that he was going to have to make the change like many other desperate musicians and turned to the business world to pay his bills, but never lost his creative drive or desire for good sound.

After many years of management in the technical world, having worked with Fortune 500 companies as clients, John felt there was a need for another AV/COM company, but one that didn’t settle for second best or cut corners. Thus, AV/COM Integrators was born in June, 2002.

The success of AV/COM has been built on John’s integrity and his ability to take complicated concepts involving the latest in technology and breaking things down in such a way that just about anyone can understand. People quickly determine that John is someone that truly cares. His clients are confident that he grasps their needs and they appreciate being able to comprehend what he is talking about. This has been very beneficial whether in the corporate world, retirement communities, churches, and everywhere else AV/COM serves.

Growing up as a Preacher’s kid and being involved in church leadership and ministries all his life has given John special familiarity with the needs of churches and gives him the ability to understand firsthand how technology can make a difference in their facilities and ministries.

As for John’s success in dealing with Retirement Communities, it probably has something to do with him having elderly parents under his roof and having to deal firsthand with the special needs of his own mother. It has made him more understanding of the very practical needs people have in all walks of life.

As to integrity, we do what we say, when we say it, and usually deliver more than we promise. This is the premise on which AV/COM has been built and each member of our team has been carefully selected based on their skill and their ability to uphold the AV/COM standards – and they have!
